old, worn barber

    hi everyone. i just wanted to share this old coin. i got it when i was at the flea market a few years ago. i told the coin dealer i was just getting started collecting and he said give me a quarter and he gave me this. only worth melt, but still cool looking.

    Id say that coin has been circulated alot. Not a bad deal though for only a quarter.

    yeah, i cant imagine that kind of circulation!

    The Barber coins were designed to withstand alot of circulation. For one of these coins to be worn this much just from everyday commerce is unbelievable. It almost looks as if this Barber was intentionally worn down. IMO

    are you sure, I have 3 barber quarters. 1 is considerably worn, the other 2 are pretty good.

    Maybe not. I agree that they are designed to wear down nicely in circulation but it is still a silver coin and it wears at about the same rate as any other silver coin.
