Can anyone help me with the identification of this ticket/note? A Vietnamese colleague told me the script is of an older style that he could not understand. Any advice or input much appreciated. Thanks.

    doug444 STAMPS and POSTCARDS too!

The item dates from before July, 1954, as it indicates Viet-Nam as a part of French Indo-China. It's not currency, it's a receipt of some type, something that had a tax applied, maybe a hotel bill. The language is Chinese, not Vietnamese.

Thanks. I thought it might be a receipt of some kind since it stamped a few times. I wonder what kind of receipt? -RM

I tried having a Chinese colleague of mine translate and he was unsuccessful citing it is an older script that he is not familiar with. Based on some accompanying paperwork with the receipt/note, I believe this piece to be valuable, but I still have no idea what it is. :) Any more educated guesses?
