Old U.S. Paper money went from being worth almost nothing just 20 years ago to exploding in value in the last ten years and now it seems to be holding tight since the economy went south. Do you think it has higher to go compared to coins? Based on the number of old notes still in existence in higher grades, i cant help but notice that if that was a coin with the same rarity and condition it would be worth much more.

In 1983 I bought a then one-of-five known note that's necessary to complete a $1 small size collection by type and series, including known stars. I paid less than $400 for it. Today there are maybe thirty known, and my note on a bad day would likely bring at least $5000 at auction. A Lincoln cent that was necessary to complete a significant type of collection, and that was one of thirty known, would bring ten times that much, maybe more.

It's all about supply and demand.

Everything took a dive in 06, everything is still down about 20% and it will take some time
    To make any noticeable recovery!

I am buying LOTS of currency right now. I like it better than coins but I also think it is under appreciated right now. I think Obsoletes are a bargain right now.
