Since today is pretty boring for ancient talk I figured I would share my new/old Lucilla for my set. I have had this for almost 3 months now. It was the last coin I got before I went on the wagon. Technically this would be the final coin to complete my set but I had to part with a lesser coin for offline reasons, so I am back to needing 1 left but I am OK with it since the hard ones are bought. This particular Lucilla reverse is fairly rare. Its also one of my favorite additions to my set. In hand it's much darker. Lucilla (164 - 182 A.D.) AR Denarius O: LVCILLA AVGVSTA, draped bust right. R: IVNONI LVCINAE Juno seated left, holding flower and infant. 3.2g 19mm RIC M. Aurelius 770. C. 36. BMC M. Aurelius 342 Ex. Goldberg Auctions, Sept. 22, 2013, Sale 75 Lot 2706 (part of)
Awesome pickup mat! Lucilla is definitely oneof my favorite empresses. In other news I got in the mail yesterday three coins Ive been waiting on, so Ill share those soon to add to everyones' latest acquisitions.
Nice coin, Mat. I don't have a Lucilla just yet but planning on it later on. I saw this Lucilla As that was tooled and I almost got it and then changed my mind. I only thought about it because it's cheap. I can't wait to see the next series of coins you get, Bing. lol I took about 6 months off myself. Can't wait to see those coins VK!
Hot lookin' chick, Mat!! (you must have used some smooth pick-up lines?!!) ... I only have one Lucilla example (this scruffy ol' Sestertius ... with her peacock!!) Cheers
Nice pickup Mat. After spending over 3k in dec, christmas, and looking at either building on or buying a new house, I am kind of on the wagon right now.
