Old Japanes Currency

    Got these from my grandfather after he returned from the war in 1946. Some of these are beautifully colored! Any idea if any of them are rare or valuable?

    The first three notes you have posted are extremely common, and in the condition they're in, they probably wouldn't sell for more than a dollar or two here in Japan. The fourth note (silver certificate) dates from 1889 and is a little more valuable. It would be hard to place a value given the condition it's in, but I suspect the dealer buy price might be around $25-30, or about 20% of the catalogue price of that note in average circulated condition.

    Nice notes DLeach and welcome to the forum.

    You wouldn't happen to live in South-Central PA and collect old gas station signs, do you? ;)
