This coin seems to be german or swiss but I can not identify exactly. It weights 1.6 gr and its diammeter is 24 mm aprox.
Three days and no replies. You got us stumped. Where's IAN when you need him? I can make out the MONET at the bottom to the left, from 6 o'clock to 10 o'clock. Moneta -- money (of) -- is standard on medieval coins. However, I cannot make out the name of the the place ... It is kind of hard to turn the computer upside down and catch the light on the inscription...
Hi mmarota, Finally, I have had an answer to my question ... in a german numismatic forum. My coin is a kreuzer or groschen from Austria of Friedrich III (1440-1493) . Legend says MONET NOVA NOVE CIVIT (3 arms side - Austria, Carinthya & Styria) and the other side FRIDRICVS ROMAN IMP (double eagle side) .. that's what my german partner has gentlely informed me.... a As you see, you were in the correct way . Thanks for your interest. Aidab
