i just yesterday made an incredible trade(i think) for some amazing coins. most are us and i know stuff about them but i have some foreign ones that i cant find much info on. im workin on gettin pictures and ill have them up soon i hope but for now ill give a description and if anyone can tell me anything about them id appriciate it.
first i have 2 coind from 1943, they are 2 franc coins. they have a battle axe on the front with the words etat francais, the reverse says travail famille patrie.
the second is a 1958 coin from madagascar, its a 1 franc coin and the fromt has a bust of a lady on it and the reverse has 3 bull faces.
a 1966 1 centime coin, the front has a wheat stalk i think and says republic francais, the reverse says centime and there is a 1 on it.
a 10 franc coin from 1951, it has a ladys face on the front and a chicken on the back with the words liberte egalite fraternite.
a 1938 coin 5 centime coin, it has a hole in the center but i believe it is supposed to be there, it says republique francais on the front and indochine francais on the back.
a 1957 10 franc coin, it says institut de mission afrique occidentale francaise togo on the front and has a picture of an antelope or sonethin on the back.
my last new coin is a 1 franc from 1897, it says republique francais colonie de la martinique on the front, the back has some wheat stalks i think and says bon pour 1 franc in the center of the back of the coin. there is lettering around the rim of the coin but i cant make out what it spells. i hope to have pictures soon to help out with my description but till then , if anyone knows anythin bout these coins please reply and let me know what u know about them.
    thenks,
    Tony.

The first two are French 2 Francs issued by the German occupational (Vichy) government. They're not particularly valuable.
1958 Madagascar you already know what it is.
1966 1 centime is French, not really valuable.
10 franc 1951 is French, not valuable.
1938 5 centime is French Indochina (Vietnam), not sure of the value but I don't think they're rare. I just bought on today actually.
1957 appears to be from Togo in Africa. A lot of former French colonies used similar coins for awhile. I've never seen that particular country.
1897 1 Franc is from the colony of Martinique. That would be the best of this lot I'd say.

Krause lists the 1897 Martinique 1 Franc at $16 in VG condition. You didn't say what condition yours was, but that's the lowest listed in the book. There were only 300,000 minted.

Check the 1943 2 francs coin for a mint mark.It should be on the back on the left of the axe,not the right that is a engraver mark.If it is B or C it makes the value go up.The words travail famille patrie mean work family fatherland,Germany was called the Fatherland back then.
