I recently found an old coin in a sewer pipe. The house was located in Philadelphia,PA and was built around 1850-1889.
I have been unable to find anything via the internet and was wondering if anyone here could help identify the coin.

On the front it has a large star surrounded by 16 smaller stars. In the back is a diamond hatch pattern with 16 stars around the perimeter. It appears to be a soft metal and it's brownish yellow in color. There is no visable date.
    I have attached pictures.
    Thank you

I'm far, far from being the most knowledgable person on this forum, but I don't often get the chance to make a first guess. I think it's an old brass game piece.

I agree with Bluegill. There is no date, denomination, or any wording to identify it. It could be a medal or token for trade, but - in this case - I would say that a game piece or poker chip would be an excellent guess.

You guys are good, I almost feel like you don't need me (sniff). This is known as an MSA (manufacturer's stock arcade) token. When a custom arcade token order was placed, and while the tokens were being made, manufacturers would often send the arcade a supply of stock tokens to use until the custom ones were delivered. Some arcades saved money by only using stock tokens, while the ones custom ordering could return the stock tokens for credit when they were no longer needed.

This particular one is id # MSA-XXW, metal is brass, diameter is 23mm, value is about 25 cents (for one in nice condition).
