Probably not, as it was about a hundred years before Columbus seen first glimpse of the New World. 1893 on the other hand was a good year for indian head pennys, as you can read here: http://www.coinfacts.com/small_cents/indian_head_cents/1893_indian_head_cent__copper.htm
it could be a 1893 penny with part of the 8 missing that makes it look like a 3 .... nice error if that is what it is
