Just wanted to show this to everyone. Yesterday my LCS went back into the vault and came out with a few old ANACS and ANA holder coins. This one I absolutely had to buy. No one would blink an eye if the holder said MS64, but I just can't get over the natural toning. The holder was perfect, too! No scratches or marks to speak of. Just looks like someone submitted it and put it away for decades.

Awesome!! I'm guessing that carries some premium over MS-63!

I would pay $90 for the toning.

Why even spend the money to cross over? The coin sells its self. Besides I always scout out shows for these old ANACS holders they hold lots of nice surprises .

The fact that this is pre-ANACS... the old ANA, makes it worth more than a new PCGS holder, to me. There are a ton pcgs ms63 1882-S coins, but this is sort of unique in my eyes.

I would buy all of the old holders I could find if my pockets were deep enough . I have found more treasures in these type of holders than any others.

I wouldn't crack this coin b/c there are too many marks on the field and the cheek to grade PCGS 63. The toning is another story.

There honestly isn't enough price difference between MS62 MS63 and even MS64 for an 1882-S to make any difference. Personally I think it is an accurately graded coin in the perfect holder.

It is a gorgeous toned coin. I would have snatched it up in a heart beat. Did you see my toned Morgan's I picked up on Friday? They were not slabbed but I felt well worth the price. I'm trying to get a shot of the luster on them. I may have to make a video to upload onto youtube. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/my-newest-morgan-purchases.263396/
