I have one series 1950 c ten dollar bill printed in Boston Mass. It has no rips tears or abrasions on the outer edges, there is one slight crease to the center. This can probably be removed with a heavy book. How much do you think it would be worth? Also, i just recently found a "1969 series A" New York New York. Collectors would not consider it to be in great condition but its not ripped and only has a few moderate creases. Is it worth more than 10$?
Hello, CC. A 1950 C Boston $10 would actually have been printed around 1962. In CU condition it has a catalogue value of $50, according to the 5th edition of the Standard Guide. The 1969A New York $10 would have been printed around 1972. It catalogues for $35 in CU. The Standard Guide is an excellent resource for a collector. The full name is "Standard Guide to Small-Size U.S. Paper Money" by Dean Oakes and John Sshwartz. I would suggest buying one and reading through it. I got mine at Books-A-Million, so they aren't hard to find. Good luck.
It should be added that most guides (especially coin/currency ones) are overpriced in their values. Also, CU means that - no folds, soiling, creases, etc. One small defect and the value is reduced considerably.
I use "The Standard Guide to US Paper Money" 24th ed, by Kruse/Lemke. It has the same values, $50 and $35 respectully.
