As I indicated in the "What am I doing wrong in photographing my coins?" thread, I was having difficulty imaging a VF-30 1806 Half Cent. (I am not the OP for that thread.) I thought it was probably my lighting, and it was. I checked Goodman's book and he indicated that the lighting should be as close to vertical as you can get. So I modified my setup. Yep, that improved my results considerably. It's probably not ideal yet, but at least you can see the details that were previously getting washed out.
