This was from Coinweek’s “Fake Friday.” Which one of the Vermont Commemorative Halves is real, and which is fake? Is the counterfeit A or B? Please give reasons. I will link the article, with the answer, after responses.

    A is fake.
Cat’s face is smashed into the rim.
Most of the letters are mushy.
    Numbers are not crisp.

I believe that coin A is fake because:
    1. the cats face looks like it's smashed into the rim
    2. the A's in "HALF DOLLAR" on the real coin have almost a square beneath them where as the fake coin's A's are rather small and less space under them

A is counterfeit...mushier details (and that is not from wear) and just has the look of being off

I wish I could go agaist the Majority but my Gut said A and the cats face compared to a PCGS website should only be the nose touching the rim

I'll have to say A. The lettering and numbers show no consistency or uniformity. The legend merging with the rim, the rim having it's own issues of uniformity all around, the cat is a bit cartoonish as well as being misplaced. There's an overall granular look to the devices and fields.

As others have said, the first must be fake. I just keep looking at the reverse of the second, In God we trust, E pluribus unum, the dash between the dates, the way the lettering merges with the rim....could they both be fake?
