It's now at 26 and change. I always find pundits who equally believe it will exceed 50 or not! I wonder what the future holds? I'm not so sure it will ever see 50 again in my lifetime!!!
I think if we have some serious inflation it could happen again. I don't think we are going to see it tank anyway.
There were a few here, which I haven't seen post in some time, who assured us silver would be a few hundred dollars by this time. Hope their crow tastes good. Guy
And, in some ways, an equally valid question - when (if ever) will it go back to single digits (under $10)
See the latest one. Its actually written by a PM BROKER! Geez, way to seek out unbiased reporting, huh Coinflation? As to the OP's question, it WILL be $50 an ounce. I guarantee it. When? Absolutely no idea. It will be there eventually though. Its the nature of a modern economy based upon the prevailing wisdom that low/moderate inflation is the currency model most conducive to spurring growth. In my lifetime, (next 30+ years)? Good possibility. However, that does NOT mean it will have turned out to be a good investment. I bough most of my silver at $4, and it could very well turn out to be a horrible investment for me, taking into account TVM.
Ah, but what if the dollar has gone away before then? What if we're all carrying around Yuan in our wallets ten years from now?
Lol, I am an optimist. The USD might be a third world currency by then, but I didn't see Mexicans carrying around Yen in the 80's. Good or bad, most everyone keeps their currency.
