I just purcased some quarters in a Dansco album, but old dumb me can't figure out how to access the coins.
Can someone explain the proceedure ? Dansco site says to slide plastic to the right, but nothing moves.

Sometimes the person who put the slides in pushes them a little too far and they get lodged on the left side. If you have a pair of tweezers, you can try to get a grip on the right end of the slide a pull it out.

Just be careful when reinserting the slide so that you don't scratch the coins.

  4. You can also unscrew the pages from the binding as well and more carefully gain access to the coins. TC

I assume there is one slide on each side. Pull the one which the coins wouldn't potentially rub against!

You will get the plastic to slide but be careful that you don't scratch your coins when you slide it back over them. It can happen.

Earlier this year, I bought a small collection housed in 1940s-1950s- Wayte Raymond holders, which are similar to Dansco, only larger.

I had to destroy the pages to get the coins out, but no great loss, as I would not have used them again under any circumstances.

Thanks for the replies. I'll keep working on it. Tweezers sounds like the best plan yet.

Use a baseball bat. Repair with duct tape. Answer for everything.

You might try moving them up and down to loosen them.

If there is a hole without a coin in it, then squeeze the front & back clear windows together (tightly) at that hole and try to move them to the right. If the windows don't move, then you have a real sticky wicket.

Nothing in the world that can't be fixed with a roll of duct tape a clicky pen and a hand grenade.

You don't need any of that. If you're dumb enough to push a 40.6mm ASE into a Britannia-sized 40mm airtite, ya just keep flexing it until the ASE comes out. Oh, and if that doesn't work, real men use vice-grips ...sheesh!
