Hello everyone!! It has been awhile since my last post here, to many hobbies, but my wife and daughter were at the Bay store today and my wife spotted something wierd about this Royal Canadian Mint set. On the $2 coin it looks like there is some oxidation on her head and beside her head, it is not mint, and it is very obvious. Would anyone have any idea if this is considered an error, maybe a value. There is nothing that I can find in the 60th anniversary edition about errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Rodney.
On some of the American Silver Eagles they too develope "Milk Spots" due to contaminated water being used when the planchets were washed. That might be what happened to your set. Too bad as it's a beautiful coin as well Good Luck Bone
Thanks for the replies. If these are from the Royal Canadian Mint, should they not be Mint. This coin is not in good condition and is not mint. The other coins are very nice. Rodney.
No, not necessary. If there had been contamination from the postage from the mint to your place, or improper handling at the mint, perhaps the mint should be liable for it. But because that is nothing more than improper handling, perhaps that might lower the value of the set.
