    Hi Everyone,

I track my coin collection via a software program and I'm switching programs at this point to something that works better for me. As I'm going through my coin records I wanted to clean up some of the data including what I call "Coin Issue Name".

The question I have is in relation to American Silver Eagles (1986-current) of both proof & uncirculated varieties. The issue names I have don't all match up and I wanted to ask what is the official "issue name" for these coins, if there is such a thing.

If not what is the most widely used names for these coins. I appreciate any feedback!!!

    Thanks a lot!!!
    :)

They're called "American Eagles" on the U.S. Mint's website, so I suppose that's the official name for the coin.

I call them silver eagles. Alot of people use "ASE" for American Silver Eagle. To be official, I'm not really sure.
