When I sold vintage video games last year, I had some extra money to play with after getting some house maintenance taken care of. I was just browsing Civitas new listings & saw this listed for an excellent price. I didn't think too hard on it. I could have easily settled on a 1/2 Real or 1 Real on ebat, but this is a 2 Reales, much scarcer than the lower denominations. A silver coin of Ferdinand & Isabella has been in my top 5 wants for years now. I'm finally happy to scratch it off. Ferdinand & Isabella (1469 - 1504) SPAIN Castile & Leon (Castilla y Leon) AR 2 Reales FERDANDVS : ET : HELISABET : D : Crowned shield of arms breaking inner beaded circle. + : REX : ET REGINA : CAST : LEGIO : ARAGON Bow and arrows within beaded inner circle Granada Mint. 29mm 6.80g. Sweet coin Mat. Of the few coins I want from the period, Ferdinand & Isabella is high up there. Very cool!
