off stamped penny

    hi everyone--im new at researching coins-i have this penny we have had for some time no that is off stamped-i personally....have never seen one before---hey just like anybody else im wondering did i hit the jack pot or not.....lol----well anyway its a 2000 penny--- im posting pictures so if they arent good enough let me know i'll try again----any help on this penny would be wonderful--thanks soooooo much!!!!!

    People are from all over. someone will answer. I think its neat looking but I dont know the value.

    Looks like an off center strike. I'm not any good at giving prices but I would say at least a dollar or two!(but I have no idea really, just a guess) Good fine though!

    Howdy heresgin2 -

    It's not that no one wants to give you an answer - it's several things. First of all most folks, like me, work. They simply don't have time or access during the day for the coin forums. Secondly, not everybody can give you an answer - they simply don't know the answer.

    You just need to be a little patient until someone familiar with the type of coin you are asking about comes along. Sometimes it takes a day or two.

    The coin you pictured is struck slightly off center, but not enough really to make it worth a significant premium. As has been said, you might get a couple bucks for it if you tried to sell it on ebay - you might even get $5 - $10. But I doubt you'd get much more than that.

    Yes, sorry you did not hit the jackpot. However it is worth more then face value to a collector of error coins. Good luck.
