Off metal Mexican coin any advice????

    I found this coin while sorting another lot for my business any advice on this coin is this an error coin?

    It looks dirty and worn. Perhaps hit with a chemical bath or spent some time in the ground.

    Looks like 199something, you can barely see it between "$10" and "DIEZ". Maybe they re-designed the 2001.

    check and see if they went from copper to
    a bi-metallic coin between those two years.

    If not, I'd say the copper piece might be
    copper-plated.
