Off Center Strikes

Question: Why are there so many 1999 off center errors on Ebay. Are these truly errors. Based on the amount listed on a regular basis makes me wonder how they could be errors.

Your thoughts please.

Yes, they are errors. Apparently, there are too many people who have read the book, "Strike It Rich With Pocket Change" and have believed everything they read.

There are many thousands and thousands
of 1998 thru 2001 dated off center cents.

....and I mean thousands and thousands
of EACH date.

The Mint was striking 20-24 BILLION coins
during 1999-2000, so a few errors are
not unusual.
