So here is a coin that is worth about 15¢ in VF. My question is how much value can be added due to the 10% Off-Center strike?
Of course you probably know I like errors and this is a nice one. But I guess whatever the market will bear. Perhaps 10% off center and with a date, I might guess between $5 and $10.00? Just a guess, maybe more to someone who collects Phillipines more intensely.
Your 20 centavos has a mintage of 395,350,000. My 20 centavos has a mintage of 30,000,000. Which has got to factor into a law of averages somehow?
There has got to be so many factors to consider in determining the value of coins like this, most of which would be just quess work. Mintage can be recorded, but then you get into how old was the coin press and how well does it run/work, press operator knowledge, quality controls, How many errors made and released, etc, The value really amounts to; Hey I like that, will you take ten buck for it? Well I would like to get $12.
