Odd question about what to save

In a previous thread somewhere, somebody said they save all their wheat pennies. I have started that now also but would like to know if I put pennies like these in with the mix, will that "rot" spread among the other coins?

I'd add these to my stats list of found coins but they would still be spenders to me. To each their own as they say but the notion that every "old" coin needs to be saved will become tedious and redundant over time as such coins are still frequently encountered.

To add, not only will you find that you're locking up an ever-increasing amount in face value but that you'll have to make more and more room to store them. As you gain more experience you will hopefully become adept at filtering out such problematic coins and releasing them back into circulation to fulfill their continued needs for commerce.

I guess the moral of the story is to focus on saving higher grade, problem-free examples while letting problematic or notably worn but common date coins go back into the wild.

No.. and don't save them. Some people think that they can sell the copper Cents. Can't be done. It is a waste of time and space. Just spend them.
