i have recantly come across a penny, 70's i believe. and it is smaller in diamiter and thicker then any penny i've ever seen. is it rare or just a fluke in the coin world. will post picture latter. matt
Hi! Welcome to CoinTalk! We would like to see a picture of your cent. More than likely, though, Garrett is right. What you probably have is a "spooned" coin. This is accomplished by hitting the rim, all the way around, with a spoon, or similar metal object. After quite some time, you get a coin that is smaller and thicker than the original.
