Odd Ink Mark on Jackson

Spotted this one, not sure what it is.

Any ideas?

Looks like the remains of a teller stamp,not special at all still $20.

 

What would be the reason for them doing this? Never seen it before!

 

The ink color has that same green color as the rest of the note.

 

Spend it.

 

When banks count and band notes, the teller doing it uses his/her stamp to show who did it. If the stamp misses the band, even by a little, tiny, bit, then the ink is transferred to the top note. That's what you have there, a top note of a bundle some teller counted and stamped. NAV other than face.

I agree with most of the above. A stray teller stamp. Definitely Post-BEP damage.

You can almost read the stamp.
