Odd Demoninations...Guess The Grades, **Grades Revealed** One or more of these may have been posted in the past. Don't cheat or ruin it for other is you know. Have fun, let's see who knows their odd denomination grading. Coin 1. 1864 2 Cent Piece. Coin 2. 1861 3 Cent Silver. Coin 3. 1875 S 20 Cent Piece.
OK! Just off the top of my head and without the use of my inferior grading skills above F12, here goes. 1. 2 Cents - I give it MS67 RD. I can't see any problems, but the grain keeps it from going higher. A two cent woody.(MS65/MS63) 2. Trime - I say MS64 just because I think most of the "damage" was mint related rather than PMD It looks like it may have been struck 6 or 7 times. At least once with an obverse reverse flip. See shield detail under the obverse numerals. (AU50/AU50) 3. 20 Cents - This is the toughest. there appears to be rub on the highest points, but it might also be a weak strike. the toning would suggest that. I was initially going with XF45*, but I think I'll go with AU58 on the chance that they might not get many well struck coins in that series. (VF30/VF30) And that my friends is the reason I stick to the low end. Perhaps it has made me blind to the faults of the good stuff
65 - toss-up on color to me, but going to say brown. 63 - assuming all of it is clashed dies, never really looked at these before. VF30 Nice batch of coins.
I'm thinking an earlier strike on the trime because clashes aren't usually off center which is the case here.
