People do all sorts of things with their coins so I'm trying to figure out the reason WHY SOMEONE WOULD SCRATCH UP THE BORDER OF A COIN NEXT TO THE RIM. Any ideas? If you know what they did and why PLEASE LETS OTHER MEMBERS TAKE A GUESS. Thanks. I have no image of the rest of the coin but the entire side looks as this.
…because they are A) stupid B) bored C) trying to make it look nicer but do not have the knowledge or skills required D) stamp collectors E) desperately trying to get your attention F) drunk G) coin haters H) trying to « macgyver » a vending machine I) none of the above, you tricked us ;-)
I Don't Mr. Q. That's because when you have looked at enough vintage coins you will discover that in many cases a worn die is paired with a fresh die and the surfaces of both sides will appear to be on entirely different coins. Additionally, the coin's third side (another part of the coin that does not need to be seen) will usually look similar to most collectors on a coin struck with both dies worn, one die worn, or fresh dies.
