Decided to pick up one of these little Currency Albums to store my Obsoletes and Fractionals. I also printed out a “Title Sheets” with a short summary of what Obsoletes and Fractionals are and had a worn out Black Eagle that I had gotten from my grandmother when I was a kid and put it in there as well and it worked out great
That's a nice collection @Skippy Topaz; I'd sure love to have that Bank of East Tennessee note in my collection.
Well, I'm not really an "avid" collector so over the years I would just pick one up here and there.. I got the Washington and Jefferson Fractionals over 20 years ago from a guy named Stanley Morycz (as well as some Large Size Notes) and then for a long time really only collected notes I found in circulation and only got the third 15¢ Grant/Sherman a couple of months ago... The rest of the the Obsoletes I think I got over the last five or six years when I got bitten by the "Obsolete Bug".. I actually never knew they existed (shows you what kind of collector I am..) Fortunately for me, the ones I liked the most weren't all that expensive. I'm primarily drawn to notes I find artistically attractive (not really ones that are valuable unless it's beautiful) but don't like getting notes that look too similar, even if they are attractive but I already have one like it. I like variety in my collections (though I do have a couple of similar looking Canal Bank/Mechanics Bank notes)
I like the descriptions that you printed, they go well with the notes. Fantastic looking collection. I need one of those 15c Grant Sherman fractionals for my collection at some point.
