    Sad. I suppose you did not do that yourself. ;) Well, I have a €1 coin with the ring and the pill taken apart, but that has never been rare or precious.

    It's not a common coin. The inner ring is silver and outer ring is gold. With a mintage of just 5000 and the price of the coin is sold higher than bullion value, I'm not too sure what happened - must be a dealer that is desperate for money and sold it for melt value. Thought the silver would be worth some money... - least I bought the inner core for melt. But this, this is ridicious!

    I think it is the other way around. The silver center survived. I suspect the gold ring was sold for its gold content first.
