I was wondering if anybody from the CT community will be there on Sat/Sun..?

As world coin folks clearly outnumber the US coin dealers/collectors, I am looking desperately (yeah really!) for people selling/trading US coins. Let's get in touch :)

...at least let's grab a coffee and talk a bit, even if we don't do any business.

No, I won't be there. Family reunion. :) @Eduard maybe? Also, several members of a German forum will get together at 12 noon, on Saturday though, in the food/catering area ...

Show must have been great for treasure hunters and world coin aficionados but they didn't have many certified US coins so I wasn't really impressed.

Umm, Frankfurt is in Germany. ;) So US coins are world coins, and slabs are not exactly popular here anyway. Ah well, at least you now know what you can expect ...

You're right. What did I expect? When I found an 1876-S trade dollar and argued I would buy it if it was slabbed, the dealer told me to lower my expectations... his colleague across the hall told me I wouldn't need a slab if I knew my stuff about old US gold. I was looking at an 1899 $10 liberty gold AU/MS slider. Really?

    Hi micbraun,
    So I didn't missed anything?
Was invited on a christianing.....and today I spend my time in black forrest.

No I didn't because trade dollars are highly counterfeited and I didn't feel comfortable buying raw gold coins either. Actually I sold a couple of coins and also met a US dealer I knew from the year before so it wasn't such a bad experience.

Thieves have also been active yesterday, despite security guards. From what I heard, one dealer "lost" a tray of US $20 gold coins at the show ...
