Pupienus and Balbinus go together like water and oil. I heard their bickering was so bad that when a band of praetorians finally had enough and decided to dispose of them, the two Emperors did nothing to save themselves as they were too busy accusing each other of sending the armed gang of praetorians after the other. When the praetorians reached them they were still going at it, and were easily dispatched. The Roman people were very grateful to be rid of two Emperors who did nothing but argue with each other.

I still need Balbinus and Pupienus, but I only need 8 to have all of the "attainable" Roman Portraits... CONGRATS!

It was advertised as a Sestertius but as I don't have it in hand not sure of it's dimensions.

It looks like a sestertius. I'll be looking forward to your own pics and more info.

Wow! That's cool pish! I think it's a sestertius because I can see some brass showing through on the reverse.

Way cool Pish!!! That portrait puts mine to shame...

Last year I picked up a budget example of each of the two 'bickering fools' LOL

    Each one is a sestertius:

    Seller tells me :
20 grams, and the diameter is 28 mm.

    Great coin, Pish.

That size could make it a Dupondius, (or even an As), but the weight confirms it as a Sestertius. (I believe.)

Nice one @Pishpash, I've only had a sestertius of his for a while, and finally got tired of not finding a matching one of Balbinus', so I sold it.

I still have nice denarii of theirs though

I thought that you were taking a break from collecting though?
Seems as your breaks are about as effective as my own! :p:D

@Pishpash your image and the seller's images seem somewhat different, especially the color. Nearly 20g? That's a nice hefty coin.
