    AV Solidus ND struck circa 364-67AD Nicomedia Mint
    Valentinian I 364-75AD
    4.58g. 22mm.
    obv.Draped/ Pearl Diademed Bust Right
    rev. Emperor Standing holding Standard/ Victoria/ Globus

    He was campaigning vs the Germans in 375AD. He met a group of Quadi Ambassadors in Trier. They got him so upset that in his rage he burst a blood vessal in his brain/ died of resulting stroke!

    After getting a whole slew of coins from 1300-1965, I finally got some ancients:happy: 03011q00.jpg

    Wow!, that solidus looks like a FDC, & 4.58 gm is heavy too.
