    Hello,

I received a box full of Czech, German and military paper money. I am struggling to find information on some of them. I will slowly post some, I don't want to overpost. I do have the world paper money book. I wll only post ones I cannot find in there.
Can anyone tell me anything about these notes (rarity, value, interesting facts). I have many of these, some in different denominations.

The MPC note is a Series 521 10 cent note. It is from the second printing of this denomination. This is a common note.

The note next to it a a piece of Japanese Invasion Money from WWII for the Dutch East Indies. It is listed in the Pick catalog under the Netherlands East Indies as 121c. It is also a common note.

The piece of notgeld below the MPC is from the German city of Buttstadt. It is a typical piece of Serienscheine, series notes issued in 1921 more as souvenirs than as money.

The piece next to it is also Serienscheine from the city of Bremen. It is part of a set that was issued to commemmorate German-America Week in Bremen. I believe there are 8 different notes in the set each depicting a different city on the back.

The bottom piece is also a piece of Serienscheine issued by the City of Hamburg for Culture and Sport Week. There are 3-4 pieces in the set each with a different denomination.

All of these are common notes. The notgeld are common and go for about a dollar a piece. The JIM note is also common and is also worth about a dollar at most. The MPC is worth about $3-5.00 based on its condition.

Wow, thank you. That was very informative. The rest of the notes in the box are czech and german. I cannot seem to find them in the world paper money book either. Most of the German notes are "Reichsbanfnote". Can you point me in the right direction to look these up? Are they in the world book? I couldnt find them under German States or Germany.

    Top row, first picture

On the left is a US Military Payment Certificate, which looks familiar, and may have been in circulation in the mid-50s during my tour in Korea and Japan.

On the right is a note issued by the Japanese forces in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia) during the March, 1942-August, 1945, occupation. #13-61 is listed as having three varieties in the Japanese Numismatic Dealers Assn. Catalog. Depending on variety and condition, it is valued in the current edition at ¥100 (~$1.09) to ¥6,500 (~$71).

Notes issued by the Reichsbank will be under the German section in Volume II of the world paper money catalog. Post some pictures of those and we can get you in the right direction.

20+ years of notgeld collecting. It also helps to be able to read German (I cannot speak it though). I also have a few notgeld catalogs -- the good German ones, not the useless one that Krause put out a few years ago.

That is where I have the problem...that German mix's me up all the time.
    How many do you have?
Would you post some of the rare ones you have?
