thought this was a nice notgeld coin F- 80.4 City of Coblenz (German) 25 Pfennig Notgeld Coin Depicting the Johann Joseph von Görres not sure what the reverse depicts...sadly this coin has a bit of rust, I am thinking, since its a pretty cheap coin, just using a bit of rust remover on it... If you want to know about the man go here: http://www.cachecoins.org/stadtcoblenz25.htm This coin is also from Coblenz F- 80.3 City of Coblenz (German) 10 Pfennig Notgeld Coin Depicting the Augenroller (Eye Roller) Info in the obverse which is the Augenroller is here: http://www.cachecoins.org/stadtcoblenz.htm
If anyone can shed some light on what is being depicted on the reverse of the von Görres coin, let me know...I have had no luck trying to find out and the examples I find are like this one, and it doesn have the same reverse. http://www.jetons-monnaie.net/a/acoblence.html
Drusus, can you please post another photo,as all I can see is a grey square with a white square with a red 'x' inside it? Aidan.
Drusus, all it is is a generic shield. It is nothing to write home about,as far the design goes. Aidan.
thats the other variety...what I am needing to know is what the reverse is on the coin I posted...its the same obverse design...but the reverse is different...the shield I wouldnt care as much about, the reverse on my coin has a man in a top hat hold three balls in either hand (upsidedown)
Drusus,I think it is best to wait until Christian comes on board. He could provide you with the answer. Aidan.
The world of notgeld coins is very interesting.... sadly there is no much documentation about, at least I can't find here.
