    If you have a copy of the Red Book, you will learn that all Lincoln's struck after 1982 were 95% zinc with a thin, outer layer of copper.

    So are you saying that that was caused by bubbles that broke?

    Somehow the Copper plating was affected. It's not an error. Just some sort of after the Mint damage. :yack:

    It looks like it was polished/buffed and the high points were worn off. It was probably angled a little to the right, that's why you see exposed zinc on that side of the rim and the date. Usually, you see telltale scratches but this must have been a very fine grit.
