I have a 1985 D Lincoln Cent, not too sure on this. Could use some Feedback. Thank you very much. Appreciate it very much.
It's definitely seen it's fair share of circulation. The MM has a gas bubble between the copper and zinc. Quite normal for an early zLincoln
As you continue to search, you notice a lot of strange things on copper plated zinc cents from the 80s. Plating bubbles, linear plating blisters and split plating are common defects and can be mistaken for errors. Keep reading the posts and you'll start picking it up. Most members of CT enjoy helping new collectors who want to learn
@Pickin and Grinin gave you the correct answer. Once the plating is breached, whether it's a bubble or split plating, the zinc can quickly corrode like a rust spot on your car bubbling up the paint.
Ok Thank you. Was trying to get a better pic, But @Pickin and Grinin is the expert in this. So yes APPRECIATE THIS VERY MUCH.
I am just a student, And will still not know everything when I die. I rely on everyone who posts to CT for my education. Reading what folks have to say, and most of the time their rebuttals, keeps the brain turning.
