Not sequential but close

I got these 2021 series $1 notes in change from 2 different stores today.

Looks like you and someone else have the same shopping habits!

 

Seems that way.

 

Someone must have gone to the bank and gotten some ones that were sequential and spent them in the same stores you shopped in about the same time.

 

We will never know, many possible ways this could have happened but yours is more logical.

A year or more later, I bought this note (blindly: b/c they only provide a stock photo) from Allen's Coins of Ohio:

 

You should immediately get out and play the lottery – The chances of you winning the lottery must be better than randomly getting those two notes like you did!

It did the opposite (buying the next note so many months later, just made me realize I must slow down: was buying far too many notes!)
