not a coin... or is it.

I don't think so... but has anyone seen anything like this? Is it just a private issue commemorative production piece?

I couldn't find anything in Krause, so I'm left with the thought that it's not a coin.

It's just a wee bit bigger than a US dime

While I can't say for sure the .999 silver is usually a give away for a silver round.

I thought about that, too. But I have never seen a round that is this small. My son bid on some baseball cards in an auction, and this was in the flat. He didn't want it, so he gave it to me.

I think it's gotta be just a small commercial commemorative.

Doug, don't forget that there are a lot of .999 silver coins around.
The most well-known are the Canadian silver $5 Maple Leaves,& Aussie Kookaburras & 'Holey Dollars' & 'Dumps',which were issued
    in the late 1980's.

Yeah I know - but I've never heard of one being issued that was the size of a dime.
