Lead sling bullet. 37 x 21 x 14 mm, 48.49 g. On one side is a winged thunderbolt, the other side is blank. These lead slingshot bullets can be as early as the 4th c. BC (Hellenistic period) but were still in use in imperial Roman armies in the 1st - 2nd c. AD. The winged thunderbolt design is attested on Hellenistic and Roman bullets as well. This one seems to be rather early, I would say Hellenistic style. Too bad I don't know its provenance!
No, no letters on this one. I have another lead sling bullet (but I forgot where it is in my mess) with Latin inscriptions: one one side L.XII or XIII (last I unclear), on the other side : FERI ("strike!").
