    Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if there were any, non PVC, storage bins that you would recommend. I'm looking for a large size bin or bins to store my collection. I did a search of the forum but the results I looked at reference coin albums, holders, safes, or safety deposit boxes. So I wanted to see if anyone out there stored their coin collection in a "plastic" bin that had no PVC. If so where did you buy it?

    Thanks!!!

The short answer... use a metal bin.

It's my understanding that the plastic food containers with snap-on lids do not contain PVC. If you go to your local grocery store and check to see who manufactures them, you can always contact them and ask. I did the same thing for Zip-Loc bags.

Chris is correct, any plastic container for food storage is not PVC. Larger containers such as for clothing storage is generally not either, as the "vinyl shower curtain" smell would stay with the clothes, but check the recycle symbol and letters on the bottom.

Stay away from #3 or the letters V or PVC

Tupperware and RubberMaid both make large bins that are suitable.
