Hi guys i found a double eagle coin in the dirt but its in bad shape and its not gold...can anyone tell me what the coin mabe? a coin guy told me to send it in because it may be more rare the the gold 1s because its a pattern.. but i dont know how to send it in... help any1? Michael

Most patterns are made from the intended metal as to test strike and fill and so forth. Not saying it isn't something worth investigating, however. I'm curious to hear what you find out.
