Took some time to dig through my "Shell Case" Lincolns.

And I found this ?Lamination error? 1947 S.

Could this be Post mint damage?

Image to be improved when the sun comes up tomorrow.

I have a lot that look like that especially the earlier dates (teens to the '30's). I've been calling them lamination flaws. It'll be interesting to hear from the Lincoln guys if this is correct or not.

I would say lamination. Normally if it is not it is caused by counting machine and this has to different places and you will see a run from the machine prior to flaw. Carl
