silver dollars.jpg silver dollars.jpg I try to work on sets of coins. I have deluxe Whitman Albums that I work on for the Roosevelt and Mercury dimes, Buffalo Nickels and Walking Liberty Halves. I also like shiny Mint Proof Silver Kennedys and Proof Silver quarters. I sure do like the old Silver Dollars. I have set a limit of $22.00 shipped for them and I will get lucky and find a decent one every now and then. Social Security budget. LOL. Yes, I have some duplicates. Silver melt, as of the writing of this. is around $11.50, so I figure I can't loose to much. This may seem a dumb way to collect them, but this old man really enjoys the big silvers. Just saying.

I can think of worse things to pile up than old silver dollars, and of worse ways of collecting them, even if you're only "stacking" or "accumulating" them without rhyme or reason. You (or your heirs) will have that bullion to fall back on.

Nothing at all dumb about enjoying them.
