    Hello everyone,

I was helping a friend last evening when i came across a Jefferson nickel that appears to either have no date with my naked eye. This could just be my eyes. However I did scan and enlarge it, see below, and i think there is a faint 19, but can't see much else.

Can you tell me if this would be a No date, partial date, or a weak strike maybe?

Here is the full coin on the obverse.

Here is the edge I am looking at, it appears to effect liberty as well.

I am not sure if this is also corroded or not as well. Very puzzling for me.

If you have any ideas as to what happened please let me know.

    Regards,
    S

I believe what you have there is a coin that has taken an acid bath but I have been wrong before.

It kinda looks like this one.

The picture is so dark I can't tell whether it was sandblasted or etched with acid. But it's definitely not a mint error.

    Hello everyone,

Thanks. I wasnot sure. I knew there was something wrong with it, but with the missing date I though it may have been something else.

Could you take clearer pics? Hard to tell if it is an error, or post mint for me by the pics.
