    Hey guys !

I've been so good this year, Santa decided to pay a visit a little early... you know, drop a little something special in the ol' stocking, if you know what I mean.

Instead of another lump of coal as in years past, Jolly Saint Nick threw down a Canon 50D with macro lens ! wooooooooooooooooo hooooooooooooooooo :high5:

Here's my first attempt... a 1938-D/D Buffalo 5c. I got the zoomus maximus on the repunched mintmark. Impossible with my old rig.

Zero post-processing with brightness or color. Just cut and paste.

Anyway, tell me what you think ! Photo and coin opinions always welcome.

Nice picture. What did you do to zoom on the mint mark?

Nice photo 900, and the coin is not so bad either.

The coin is great. The photography is super too. The closeup on the doubled mint mark is crystal clear. :thumb:

All I did was take the full reverse pic, crop, and paste it in. Actually, that's underachieving; the most clarity would be to use the macro zoom to get as tight on just the mint mark as the lens allows, then squeeze off a shot. The MM would show much better.

Thanks, everybody. There's still much room for improvement; "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is out of focus on the reverse. It's better on the real coin.
