If I went to a restaurant and they rounded up and I got more than I would have that would be fine with me. Strange but as long as it doesn't cost me any more money then I can live with it. I gotta admit tho, that sounds like somekind of crankster krap to me, doesn't it short change the waitress on some tips??

What a bunch of bull from the restaurant owner. They always round UP to the nearest dollar, but most customers get more money back. How is that possible?

Chinese restaurants in this area have always rounded up in this area for at least 50 years that I have noticed. Leaving zero tips in response is hazardous. I once was chased out by the waiter, hostess and manager. But about the same time I read about a customer stabbed to death at a Chinese Restaurant in NYC over a tip, so maybe I got off easy.

It's not the fault of the waitress, so don't punish her. If you disagree with the policy tell the owners and don't go back.

Not because I'm a coin collector, but this is a terrible policy. In my area of the country, competition is brutal in most customer service sectors. This type of practice would net in a huge loss of customers, and likely the closing of a resteraunt. How are us collectors supposed to cherry pick with policies like this anyway?

His complaints are most likely in the form of non-returning customers I'd guess.

It sounds to me like that policy borders on illegal, especially if there are no warning signs posted about it.
Even if it is legal shortchanging, I would never go there again.

Same here. A nice little place down the road from me does not accept credit cards, but it is posted on the door when you walk in. I hope this place warns you of their practices prior to ordering as well.

I read their menu (posted online),and there is no such warning of the rounding up policy (which is not to say it isn't posted in the restaurant somewhere).

In wonder what he would think of my No Pay Policy when dealing with restaurants with No Change Policies? I mean, if he can have a policy that robs me, why can't I follow suit?

If the "round up" policy actually benefited the customer, this edited (the owner) would have been using that as one of His marketing ploys from the start.
