Now you can even get your admitted fakes "certified", even when they're stamped COPY! I wonder if they'd do Monopoly money? Incidently, here's a genuine Gobrecht dollar http://cgi.ebay.com/1836-Gobrecht-D...itemZ270329185405QQcategoryZ523QQcmdZViewItem
FWIW, that appears to be the most accurately graded coin (and I use that term loosely here) I have ever seen graded by NNC.
Wow! I almost didn't look at this thread because I don't really care much about grading. Laugh? Cry? I like the ebay auction for the dollar you linked too! I don't even know where to begin on that one. Is this the beginning of the fall of civilization, as we know it?
They also accurately deduced it was a copy. I'll give 'em give high marks for that. Ya gotta wake up pretty early in the mornin' to put one over on those NNC guys.
Personally, I think grading companies should grade, identify, and slab to the best of their ability anything they are paid to slab regardless of whether it is cleaned, damaged, a copy, a token, or a counterfeit. Just put it on the label.
:mouth::mouth::mouth::hail: GOOD NEWS!! It's not too late!
