I recently purchased this coin. Does anyone have any feedback for me on the grading service that slabbed this coin. I paid $15.00 for this coin so even if it is in reality only a MS63, I still haven't lost my shirt on the deal. Thanks.
You can check >> their website << for yourself, but it doesn't impress me much. At least they're relatively cheap. Reportedly they have only been in business since 2003, but they claim many years of grading experience. I'm no grader so I can't comment on what your coin should be graded. Even if I were, I doubt that I could tell much from your picture, and without the reverse there's no way to confirm or deny the FB designation. For your sake I hope you didn't buy an AU.
NNC is just another eBay seller repackaging and selling coins as "graded" to ease any doubt from potential bidders. Chalk it up as a $15 lesson in life. A simple search of any coin forum on "slab", "grading companies", etc., all pretty much state to avoid companies like NNC, SGS and others. MS68 FB??? Yeah right...looks like a EF to me at best.
Well I'm no expert on Roosies, but do these look "full" to you (The only thing I've done to the picture is lighten it and increase the contrast a little.) The resolution isn't high enough to enlarge it any more.
Walter let me put it this way - don't ever buy another one. In all honesty that looks like a VF coin at best to me.
Thanks for the Support Many thanks to all that replied to this thread. I haven't actually paid for this purchase yet, but I plan to and if it has any wear on it when I recieve it I will immediately contact the seller to use the return policy. Fifteen dollars to me is not alot of money to use to educate myself on the subject of collecting coins, specially when there are many coins that I will eventually want that are in the hundreds and thousands of dollars. You guys are awsome. Thanks again.:desk:
