My latest coin is a fairly worn Domitian didrachm.

    RPC1671.jpg Domitian
    AR Didrachm, 6.22g
Rome mint (for Cappadocia), 93-94 AD
    RPC 1671 (33 spec.).
Obv: AYT KAI ΔOMITIANOC CЄBACTOC ΓЄPM; Head of Domitian, laureate, r.
Rev: ЄTO- ΙΓ; Nike advancing r., holding wreath in r. hand, palm in l. hand
    Ex Pegasi B152, 22 August 2017, lot 220.

The style and six o'clock die axis strongly indicate this didrachm was struck in Rome for circulation in Cappadocia. Unsurprisingly, the portrait style is similar to contemporaneous denarii from Rome. Nike is one of the most common didrachm reverse types struck for the province by the Rome mint.

    Post your Nikes!

    TIF Always learning.

Nice one, David! Her pose is very graceful.

I have a bunch of Nikes in later Alexandrian tetradrachms. Here's one:

    EGYPT, Alexandria. Numerian
    year 3, CE 284/5
potin tetradrachm, 20 mm, 7.25 gm
Obv: AKMANOVMEPIANOCCEB; laureate draped bust right
Rev: Nike flying right, holding wreath; ETOVC - Γ
    Ref: Emmett 4022(3), R2; BMC 2469

Here's an Alexandrian Nike I don't have-- a very artistic style issued by Gallienus and others around that time. There have been several of them at auction lately but I either didn't bid enough or had committed bids elsewhere. Here's an example from CNG's archives, Saloninus with Nike. Isn't she lovely?

My first Nike was also my first tetradrachm. It's not the best example of the type but it is still very charming and graceful. Looks like she's stepping off the edge of a cliff, ready to fly.

    PAMPHYLIA, Side
    205-100 BCE
AR tetradrachm. 17.0 gm, 29 mm
Obv: head of Athena right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet
Rev: Nike advancing left holding wreath; pomegranate and CT to left
    Ref: CNG France 719

Gorgon in aegis / Nike-- a very common coin and we've had a run of them lately, probably fueled by Stevex6's quest to complete the set from issuing cities (a quest he completed, and now the set has been divided up among other collectors).
