Nickle

    Hi, I found a 1939 nickle in cirulation there no mint mark is it a D or a S ? How can i tell i know its a rare date.

    Cool find! If there is a mint mark it would be on the back on the right hand side of the building. If there is no mint mark then it was minted in Philidelphia.
    The value mainly comes down to condition and mint mark, although in 1939 on the Philly nickels there were doubled die errors on the reverse. If you can post some pictures or scans we can help you out.

    Well thanks for the infor. I have just a plain Pilly nickle it will buy a pennys worth of candy.
